The National Women’s Law Center fights for gender justice—in the courts, in public policy, and in our society.
Resource Hub – Responding to Overturning Roe v. Wade
On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade shocked the nation. Here you can find resources for learning more about what it all means and how to engage.
We will continue to fight for the right of all people to get the abortions they need, when they need them, in their own communities.
Take Action!
SPEAK OUT
Use our Abortion Values Messaging Guides to talk about abortion authentically and proactively, from a place of values.
Refer to our “Dos and Don’ts” one-pager to make sure you are not using harmful or stigmatizing messages.
Here is an explainer of why we don’t use certain stigmatizing language or images when talking about the threat to abortion access
This Fight Will Take All of Us
Abortion rights and access are connected to so many of our other rights and fundamental freedoms.
This includes our right to workplace justice, disability rights, LGBTQI+ rights, economic security, and our right to safely care for our families, including access to affordable, high-quality child care. We thank and appreciate all of the organizations that are working to support the fullness of people’s intersectional lives–and encourage you to speak boldly about the importance of abortion and its connection to the issues that matter to you and your communities.
Please contact [email protected] if you would like talking points and other resources that can help you make those connections clearly.
*Some talking points are available in Spanish – please see this page for more detail.*
CONTACT YOUR LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL POLICYMAKERS
Ask your policymakers to make sure abortion is available, affordable, and supported in our communities. Let them know that you expect them to support abortion rights and access. Ask them what they are doing in this moment and for the long haul.
Learn more about the federal Women’s Health Protection Act (H.R. 3755/S. 1975) from our factsheet. WHPA would establish a federal right to abortion.
From this letter of opposition, learn why the bill introduced by Senators Collins and Murkowski, S. 3713, does not address the threat to abortion access posed by the Supreme Court.
