Asma is the External Affairs Associate, where she supports the External Affairs team in managing and stewarding partnerships with private sector supporters in the business and legal communities. In this role, Asma supports strategic partnership development including pro bono work, conducts research, and supports the fundraising efforts of NWLC’s annual gala to advance the work of the Law Center.

Prior to joining NWLC, Asma worked on the development team at the Aspen Institute, prospecting high-net worth individuals, corporations, and thought partners in alignment with the Institute’s mission. During her time at the Institute, Asma helped secure funding for several fellowships and event sponsorships. Previously, she worked on other development teams at DSPolitical, Jubilee Housing, and the George Washington University’s Alumni Relations Office. Asma began her career fundraising while working for GWU’s call center, Colonial Connection.

Asma holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Political Science and Criminal Justice, from George Washington University. When Asma is not working towards the fight for gender justice, she is either cooking, watching a list of tv shows, or learning how to crochet.
