Under the health care law, millions of women and families who didn’t have health insurance before are now able to get the coverage they need. But we have to keep the law strong against attacks.

What’s at Stake Today

Thanks to the health care law, insurance has become easier to get, and individual insurance plans can no longer refuse to cover women. Each year, millions of women enroll in insurance plans under Obamacare, and many are eligible for financial help in getting coverage. But the law that makes this possible is under constant threat.

What Is NWLC Doing?

We carefully monitor the health care law, making sure that insurance companies are offering coverage to everyone and not saying that being a woman is a preexisting condition. And we fight back against attempts in the courts or in Congress to undermine the important reforms the health care law brings to the insurance market, reforms that ensure women and their families have critical, affordable coverage.

We also help spread the word about the health care law and how women can enroll in coverage that’s affordable and includes the services they need.
