Gillian Branstetter is a former reporter, writer, and media strategist on the Press team at NWLC. Gillian’s focus is on income security, child care, LGBTQ rights, and work cutting across multiple departments at NWLC. Formerly of the National Center for Transgender Equality, she continues to work with reporters, editors, and advocates to produce accurate and thorough coverage about transgender people and their rights. As a reporter, she covered health care including child care, the opioid epidemic, and reproductive health care access as well as gun control, cybersecurity,  policing, and extremism. Her work has been featured in The Atlantic, Newsweek, Out Magazine, Rewire, and the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
