NWLC Staff

Ashir Coillberg (they/them) is a Senior Research Analyst working on issues across NWLC topic areas. Ashir has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor’s from Bryn Mawr College. Their personal research interests are in racial and gender equity in the criminal legal system with a master’s thesis on the intergenerational impacts of maternal incarceration, and they are a passionate advocate for abolition and decarceration. They have previously worked as the Director of Data and Technology for the WV Civic Engagement Table, as well as in Policy and Community Outreach at WV Call to Action for Racial Equality.
