Child care providers—overwhelmingly women and predominantly immigrant women of color—are the backbone of our economy.
These workers prepare the next generation for adulthood and enable parents to stay in the workforce, but are often paid shockingly little and work under poor conditions. Everyone deserves access to fair pay and safe working conditions. We can improve the lives of workers and the care children receive by making sure the child care and early learning workforce are treated with the respect and pay—they deserve.
