Families depend on women’s wages more than ever, but women working full time, year round are typically paid less than men working full time, year round in every state. And the wage gap between mothers and fathers is even worse, with mothers working full time, year round outside the home making just 69 cents for every dollar paid to fathers. Mothers overall fare best compared to fathers in Vermont, making 80 cents for every dollar paid to fathers, and worst in Louisiana where they are paid just 59 cents.
