As a second Trump administration approaches, we’re running out of time to confirm as many federal judges as possible to provide a check on his presidential power and curb his stated policy priorities.
The National Women’s Law Center submitted a comment to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in opposition to a proposed rule that would force about 25,000 “mixed-status” immigration families to make the impossible decision to either separate or lose all their housing assistance and face eviction. The proposed rule would also create unnecessary red tape that would threaten the housing security of 9.5 million people currently receiving HUD assistance. Women and girls are the majority of people impacted, and people of color are the overwhelming majority of people who would be impacted by this harsh proposed rule.
