NWLC Reacts to Administration’s Plan to Restrict Title X Family Planning Program

(Washington, D.C) Today, the Trump-Pence Administration is expected to announce damaging restrictions on the Title X family planning program, limiting Title X-funded health centers from referring patients for abortion care or providing that care with non-Title X funds. Title X-funded health centers provide care to over four million people each year and are an essential resource for low-income women and women of color.

The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center:
“It’s extremely disturbing that the Administration plans to restrict Title X-funded family planning providers.

Everyone deserves quality health care, which includes receiving information about all options if they are pregnant. Women who receive care from Title X-funded clinics rely on it—with a majority considering it their usual source of care. That care is now threatened by this Administration. The National Women’s Law Center stands with Title X family planning providers and their patients and we will fight with them to stop this dangerous proposal.”
