The job started with as big a challenge as she would face. She was hired in Sept. 2010 to replace Daryl Wade. That November, the National Women’s Law Center filed the largest Title IX complaint to that point with the Office of Civil Rights. HISD, along with 12 other districts nationwide were named in the complaint, which claimed that girls were not being given enough opportunities to play sports.
