Some are saying 2018 is the year of the woman! Women are continuing their resistance against attempts to silence, ignore, and bully them. One important way to be part of that resistance is to get the care you deserve, including essential preventive services without any out-of-pocket costs.
Continuing our resistance against the Trump Administration, the National Women’s Law Center is proud to be part of the Care Women Deserve Campaign, alongside the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Black Women’s Health Imperative, March of Dimes, Power to Decide, UnidosUS, and the United State of Women. This Campaign is aimed at spreading awareness about the range of vital women’s preventive services available at no out-of-pocket cost if you have health insurance.
Why is joining this campaign an act of resistance? Because the Trump Administration has done everything in its power to prevent people from getting their healthcare – trying to sabotage the Affordable Care Act after Congress didn’t repeal it and putting birth control coverage in jeopardy. So educating people about the women’s preventive services benefits, and encouraging women to get the care they deserve, is taking a stand.
And you can join that resistance too – just by getting your well-woman visit, Pap smear, mammogram, or birth control, which are all covered by insurance without out-of-pocket costs thanks to the Affordable Care Act, you can push back against the Trump Administration’s agenda.
