NWLC Applauds Biden Administration’s Action Against Texas’ Abortion Ban
The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) in response to actions announced by the Department of Health and Human Services to protect abortion access in Texas:
“Brutal attacks on our health and lives call for bold action. This is a necessary and important step from the Department of Health and Human Services, helping to fulfill President Biden’s promise for a whole of government response to the crisis in abortion access. Abortion providers and patients – in Texas and elsewhere – need to know that they have legal protections and that HHS is there to enforce them. We will continue to fight for people in Texas and across the country to make their own health decisions, free from government interference and discrimination.”
