In 2015, the US Women’s Soccer Team won their 3rd World Cup
With nearly 23 million viewers, the game was the most watched soccer match in US history
And they raised $20 million more in revenue than the men’s soccer team
Yet, the men get paid 75% more than the women
But wait. There’s more:
Both the men’s and women’s teams have to play 20 friendlies (international matches that are not in tournaments) a year.
If the women win, they get a bonus of $1,350
… but, if they tie or lose, they get nothing
The men’s team on the other hand gets $5000 for every tie or loss
… and up to $17,625 for a win
And some people don’t think wage discrimination exists…
