Right now, women are the majority of those working on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis—in hospitals, at grocery stores and big retail chains, and as child care providers around the country. For these working women, there is no social distancing. There’s no day off. There’s no calling in sick without losing a paycheck. It’s women—especially women of color—who are bearing a disproportionate burden of this pandemic. We have to do more to take care of them. Our country’s prosperity depends on their ability to thrive.
