The National Women’s Law Center led a letter, signed by 80 organizations, requesting the Office of Management and Budget extend the comment period for the Request for Comment on Considerations for Additional Measures of Poverty until the COVID-19 national emergency is over, plus at least 30 days. The COVID-19 national emergency is a health and economic crisis that requires our focus. Failure to extend the comment period would mean that the public will not have a meaningful opportunity to comment on ways to measure poverty accurately.
