NWLC Reacts to News that Harvey Weinstein’s Criminal Case Will Move Forward

The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):

“We are heartened by the judge’s decision to move forward with the trial of Harvey Weinstein, seeking to bring justice and peace to the women who endured his alleged crimes. And we remain grateful to them – the brave survivors who stepped out of the shadows last year to share their pain inspired millions to join them in solidarity. But our work doesn’t stop here. One man’s trial does not solve the larger epidemic of sexual harassment and assault in this country. At the National Women’s Law Center, we know that our work is far from over. Through the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund, we have heard from more than 4,000 people in 50 states, in every industry, and at all levels, seeking assistance with claims of sexual harassment in the workplace. Together, all of us must continue to push our society, institutions and laws to do better.  And we will never stop fighting until no one has to say “Me Too” again.”
