“School pushout is an issue of bias and policy. There are biases that people hold against black girls and there are policies in place that allow them to act out those biases out and enable them,” says Nia Evans, manager of campaign and digital strategies for the National Women’s Law Center. “But this is not an unsolvable problem.”
