US teenage birth rates fall again but still among highest in developed world

“That is speaking to the fact that we have in the past few years in the United States done a better job at making sure people have better access to reproductive healthcare – including contraception – across the board, so that is really promising and good,” said Kelly Garcia, senior counsel at the National Women’s Law Center.

But despite these improvements, Garcia said the US needs to improve its reproductive and sexual health system.

“We really need to be doing a better job in the United States so that everyone has access to comprehensive healthcare as well as sexual education, so they can make the best decision.”
