At the National Women’s Law Center, we recognize that women, girls, and LGBTQIA+ people do not live single-issue lives—access to abortion, contraception, and other reproductive health care is deeply tied to education, employment, economic security, and equal participation in society.
Through our work in the courts, we fight to ensure that our nation’s laws uphold the right to learn, work, access care, and thrive free from discrimination, barriers, shame, or stigma.
We use the power of the law to protect and expand the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people, bringing select cases with the potential for broad, lasting impact. We also file amicus (“friend of the court”) briefs to support others’ cases advancing equity, health, and justice.
