Elizabeth (Lizzy) Vogel (she/her) is Senior Counsel at the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund and Legal Network for Gender Equity. Immediately prior to joining the National Women’s Law Center, Lizzy was the Managing Attorney at the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project (DV LEAP) where she provided national appellate representation to survivors or domestic violence in family law and civil protection order appeals and managed DV LEAP’s internal and external trainings. Lizzy was also previously a staff attorney at Bread for the City, representing survivors of domestic violence, and a Howard C. Westwood Fellow and Equal Justice Works Fellow at Neighborhood Legal Services Program. Her Equal Justice Works Fellowship, sponsored by The Morrison & Foerster Foundation, focused on the family law needs of pregnant and parenting youth.
Lizzy obtained her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where she received the Jeffrey Crandall Award (awarded annually to one graduating law student for their commitment to legal aid), and her B.A. from Swarthmore College. Prior to law school, Lizzy spent five years teaching middle school English in the Bronx and also received a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education.
