Abortion rights, women of color, and LGBTQIA+ people are under attack. Pledge to join us in fighting for gender justice.
We know that COVID-19 is particularly impacting workers who are caring for themselves and family members, and we appreciate that many attorneys are getting questions from workers facing problems accessing paid sick days and paid leave – either from workers connected to you by the Legal Network for Gender Equity or from other individuals seeking legal advice.
To help support attorneys in this much-needed work, the Legal Network for Gender Equity and the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund proudly present our latest webinar: “Advocating for Workers Affected by COVID-19: Rights and Remedies under the Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and Related Laws.“
This presentation introduces the basics of FFCRA claims, such as the elements, defenses, burden of proof, and damages for such claims; and includes a discussion of the types of legal issues being presented by workers affected by COVID-19 and other state and federal laws that may provide rights and remedies for these workers.
Our speakers include:
- Carol Joyner, Director, Labor Project for Working Families in partnership with Family Values @ Work
-
Liz Morris, Deputy Director, Center for WorkLife Law
-
M. Frances Ryan, Wusinich & Sweeney, LLC
-
Edward C. Sweeney, Wusinich & Sweeney, LLC
- Molly Weston Williamson, Director of Paid Leave and Future of Work, A Better Balance: The Work & Family Legal Center
