NWLC Comments on the Proposed Rule Expanding Coverage of Preventive Services Under the Affordable Care Act
On December 19, 2024 the National Women’s Law Center submitted a comment on the proposed rule Expanding Coverage of Preventive Services Under the Affordable Care Act.
We urged the federal government to:
- Cover all therapeutically distinct contraceptives at no cost.
- Have a process to allow individuals to get no-cost coverage of a contraceptive product or service deemed medically necessary even when their plan doesn’t normally cover it.
- Cover over-the-counter contraceptive products without cost-sharing or requiring a prescription.
- Provide clear information about these benefits to enrollees.
