NWLC Statement on 2024 Presidential Election Results

Washington, DC – Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center, released the following statement the presidential election was called for Donald Trump and JD Vance.

“Today, we are all facing the realities of a new administration and the agenda they intend to implement. Despite the result of the presidential election, a majority of voters turned out in support of gender justice issues. Millions of people, across all demographics, voted for reproductive freedom, affordable child care, and an equitable economy – issues that NWLC will continue to fight for.

“The U.S. president is neither a dictator nor a king. Over the next four years, it is essential for our institutions to exercise their authority to curb any moves toward authoritarianism, and advance issues that matter most to women and families.

“Equally crucial is the need for gender justice advocates to raise their voices. We must resist any attempts to roll back our rights, revert to regressive policies, or erode our economic security. The National Women’s Law Center is committed to being at the forefront of this fight.”
