As a second Trump administration approaches, we’re running out of time to confirm as many federal judges as possible to provide a check on his presidential power and curb his stated policy priorities.
NWLC Responds to Department of Commerce Announcement on CHIPS Act and Child Care
The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center:
“Reliable, affordable and accessible child care is a non-negotiable for working families and those looking to join or re-enter the workforce. We applaud Secretary Raimondo and the U.S. Department of Commerce for including this pioneering commitment in the CHIPS Act that will help shape a diverse and skilled workforce that includes more women and people of color. We’re hopeful that this guidance will open doors to more discussions on parallel policies for other federal initiatives and funding. As a country we must invest in expanding access to child care which will mean more income for families, better outcomes for children, and more inclusive economic growth.”
