NWLC Reacts to Third Accusation of Sexual Misconduct By Brett Kavanaugh
The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center:
“Yet another survivor has bravely come forward with damning, horrific testimony of sexual assault by Brett Kavanaugh. Republican leadership in the Senate has demonstrated again and again that they are incapable of ensuring a fair and full investigation of these grave charges. Instead, they are choosing to confirm first and ask questions never, “plowing through” a sham process. They have made their position clear: there will be no nonpartisan investigation. No witnesses with relevant information will be called. No time will be taken to ensure that Senators are fully informed before voting on a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court by an individual who has been credibly alleged to have gravely harmed multiple women. Given this repeated rejection of basic guarantees of impartiality and fairness, Brett Kavanaugh must withdraw his nomination. Proceeding with this sham confirmation process would irreparably harm not only survivors and their allies, but also the integrity of the Supreme Court and the rule of law.”
