As a second Trump administration approaches, we’re running out of time to confirm as many federal judges as possible to provide a check on his presidential power and curb his stated policy priorities.
NWLC Reacts to Senate Rejecting Anti-Abortion Measure for Veterans
The following is a statement from Jackii Wang, Senior Legislative Analyst for Reproductive Rights & Health at the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):
“Today’s vote upholding the Biden-Harris Administration’s rule allowing abortion care at VA makes clear that the people’s mandate cannot be ignored. Access to abortion is a basic right and the Senate’s actions to protect care for veterans bring us all closer to a world where we can control our bodies, lives and futures.
But we remain appalled and exhausted by the anti-abortion extremist agenda. Veterans have always faced unique challenges in accessing abortion care, and those challenges have only increased as states across the country, including ones with large veteran populations, have banned abortion care. We are grateful to our advocates in Congress and the Administration for fighting for a future where all of us, including veterans and their families, can live safe and healthy lives, without fear or stigma.”
