As a second Trump administration approaches, we’re running out of time to confirm as many federal judges as possible to provide a check on his presidential power and curb his stated policy priorities.
NWLC on Sean Combs Indictment: Seeking Justice for Survivors
Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center and co-founder of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, issued the following statement following the indictment of Sean Combs on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and other charges related to the abuse and exploitation of women:
“Today, we are in solidarity with the survivors who have bravely come forward to tell their story and seek justice against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs for his alleged involvement in a deeply disturbing pattern of sex trafficking, sexual coercion and violence.
The accusations against Combs paint a harrowing picture of vicious abuse that spans years and involves multiple victims. We’ve seen this pattern before — someone in a position of power and influence chooses to exploit others for their own gain, using fear, manipulation and violence to maintain control over his victims.
These allegations reveal not only a gross abuse of personal power but underscore a systemic use of networks and his employees to perpetuate sexual violence. This moment serves as an urgent reminder that we must hold abusers accountable and protect women by dismantling the cultures of silence and impunity that enables predators.”
