NWLC Celebrates Confirmation of Nancy Abudu to Eleventh Circuit

(Washington, D.C.) The following is a statement from Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center:

“We are thrilled to celebrate this historic confirmation of Nancy Abudu – a distinguished attorney who has shown a deep commitment to the rights of all people, and is now officially the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Abudu’s extensive litigation experience in voting rights and reproductive rights is especially significant as she will hear cases from states where we continue to see threats to our fundamental protections: Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. We are heartened to see the confirmation of one of our country’s brightest legal minds and we believe her commitment to the promise of equal justice for all will make our courts and democracy stronger.”
