Trump administration investigates Oregon transgender athlete policies
Stephanie Turner, a competitive fencer, expressed relief, saying, “It’s just such a relief now that common sense is prevailing, finally and we can move forward with sports and focus on the amazing talented women who will be completing and be able to showcase female athletic excellence.”
However, the National Women’s Law Center criticized the move. Fatima Goss Graves, the group’s president and CEO, wrote, “By giving into the political demands, the USOPC is sacrificing the needs and safety of its own athletes.”
