Anti-abortion activist says movement is ‘stronger’ than ever
Heather Shumaker, a senior counsel at the National Women’s Law Center, which supports abortion rights, told The Hill that the push is unsurprising. “We have a new conservative justice in the Supreme Court, we have a lot of Trump appointees to the federal courts,” she said. “I think certainly anti-abortion activists and legislators are feeling emboldened to push these unconstitutional abortion bans.” Shumaker says that despite movement on the right to go after abortion providers, she doesn’t expect any cases to be argued before the Supreme Court.
