President, Lyft

Kristin Sverchek is the President at Lyft, a public transportation network company operating in hundreds of cities across the United States and Canada. She holds a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. from UC Law SF (formerly UC Hastings College of Law).  She began in private practice as a corporate transactional lawyer at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP., and was subsequently a Partner at Silicon Legal Strategy, P.C.

She joined Lyft as General Counsel in 2012 where she led Lyft’s legal strategy.  In the early days at Lyft, she was instrumental in advocating for and navigating the nation’s first-ever set of rules for transportation network companies. She later took the company public through an IPO in 2019.  She built an exceptional legal team from the ground up, having successfully navigated a multitude of arenas: corporate and commercial transactions, employment, insurance, intellectual property, litigation, personal injury, privacy, and regulatory.

In November 2021, Kristin was promoted to President of Business Affairs, and in June 2023 she became President.  She is responsible for unifying General and Administrative Central Functions to strengthen the company’s operational effectiveness and business enablement – Business Development, Global Supply Chain, Legal, People, and Public Policy.  Her organization functions as the company’s central nervous system, facilitating action, growth, and business outcomes.
