Danie is the Program Associate for the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund and the Legal Network for Gender Equity. Danie is coming to the Center from DC SAFE where she was a bilingual supportive services advocate for survivors of domestic violence in the DC area who were in active crisis. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with dual degrees in Government and Politics and a concentration in International Relations and Spanish Language, Literature and Culture. While in school, Danie was involved in gender justice work through Oxfam America’s CHANGE program. She also worked with the Montgomery County Family Justice Center on their domestic violence prevention programs, specifically their annual teen dating violence awareness event, Respect Fest, which received a Maryland Governor’s Award in 2022. Danie is from Silver Spring, MD and now lives in Southwest DC.
