In January 2025, the National Women’s Law Center joined with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF), Lambda Legal, the Leadership Conference on Human Rights, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights to release a factsheet on the effects of President Trump’s series of executive orders (EOs) targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in the public and private sectors. These executive orders are designed to chill and prohibit lawful efforts to advance equal opportunity. They attempt to do so by spreading disinformation and distorting federal laws to advance an agenda based on division and hate.
