NWLC Urges Senate to Confirm Catherine Lhamon to Asst. Sec for Civil Rights at the Department of Education

The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):

“We’re thrilled by the nomination of Catherine Lhamon to this key leadership role at the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Education. Her long record of commitment to survivor justice, gender justice, and racial justice, and her deep, direct experience in civil rights enforcement in schools equip her perfectly to serve in this role. She is ready to navigate the crises of the current moment and build for a better future. We urge the senate to swiftly confirm her.”
