NWLC Reacts to Sean Combs’ Sentencing
WASHINGTON (October 3, 2025) — Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) and cofounder of the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund, issued the following statement after Sean Combs’ sentencing today.
“The level of abuse that came to light involved a system of enablers who looked away and even furthered the violence. On the other side of today’s sentence, we urge the public to turn their attention to the true bravery of the survivors who came forward in this case and the many systems that failed them. They came forward knowing they would encounter public shaming and even more efforts to further their trauma. We are grateful to them for inspiring us all.”
“The survivors who continue to come forward deserve so much more from us all, including a world where justice and healing are promised and sexual violence no longer exists.”
