NWLC Reacts to Confirmation of Jordan Pratt to U.S. District Court
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the U.S. Senate voted 52-47 to confirm Jordan Pratt to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC), which wrote a letter urging the Senate Judiciary Committee to reject his nomination, issued the following statement in response:
“Jordan Pratt’s legal record, which includes an alarming pattern of undermining the rights of pregnant people, women, and trans people, proves that he is not committed to serving as a fair and impartial federal judge,” said Alison Gill, director of nominations and democracy at NWLC. “Jordan Pratt has a long record of ignoring legal precedent to advance his dangerous anti-abortion agenda, and his confirmation will endanger access to essential healthcare. Americans deserve justices who will protect their rights and preside over court cases with impartiality, not partisanship.”
