(Washington, D.C.) The following is a statement from Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center and co-founder of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund:
“Today, we recognize the strength and might of the 11 survivors who, against all odds, demanded justice from an unjust system. Governor Cuomo’s resignation is the result of these survivors’ bravery, the diligence of Attorney Letitia James and her office to conduct a fair and impartial investigation, and the thousands of activists and organizations who demanded accountability as a measure of justice. But we must also remember that Governor Cuomo is just one of many powerful men who assert their entitlement over the lives and bodies of the women in their employ, and we will not stop fighting on behalf of survivors until every voice is heard and every person harmed by sexual harassment and violence knows they can find justice and accountability when they need it most.”
