Trump’s $10 Billion Child Care Funding Freeze Sparks Fresh Legal Battle Over Alleged Behind-the-Scenes Decisions

The American Civil Liberties Union, the National Women’s Law Center and the National Center for Law and Economic Justice sued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Monday, seeking records related to the Trump administration’s attempt to freeze more than $10 billion in child care and family assistance funding earlier this year. The lawsuit was filed under the Freedom of Information Act, which allows the public to request government records.
