‘Moms’ Equal Pay Day’ highlights the struggles faced by many Mississippians

According to the National Women’s Law Center’s most recent Mothers’ Wage Gap report, last updated in May 2025, mothers working full-time, year-round earn approximately 74 cents for every dollar earned by fathers. In Mississippi, that figure drops to approximately 67 cents on the dollar, and the gap widens even further for mothers working part-time or part-year.
