Millions Lose SNAP Benefits as New Federal Law Tightens Access to Food Assistance
Women, particularly single mothers, Black and Latina women, and older women living on fixed incomes, already face higher rates of poverty, food insecurity, and unpaid caregiving responsibilities. “SNAP helps millions of women feed their families, especially women who are raising families on their own. Kicking them off food assistance so that billionaires can get more tax breaks is simply cruel,” said Courtney Anderson from the National Women’s Law Center.
