Analyzing The Monthly Jobs Report Through A Latino Lens

According to a 2023 report by the National Women’s Law Center, Latinas make up 8.25% of the overall workforce. However, they are overrepresented in low-wage jobs and underrepresented in high-paying positions. Specifically, Hispanic women constitute 16.2% of low-wage workers and only 4.1% of high-wage workers. In other words, Hispanic women are found in low-wage jobs at nearly twice their share of the total workforce, while in high-wage jobs, their representation is about half of their overall proportion.
