“The demeaning and humiliating of female reporters is not an accident,” says Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center. “It’s not an accident that it is happening to women, and it’s also not an accident that it is most acute when they are challenging him on something like the Epstein files.”
Goss Graves says that just because the President is trying to normalize [demeaning women] doesn’t mean that the press corps or the public needs to treat it as normal. “They need to speak up in the face of that level of sexism and say that this is not okay…The women in this country deserve better, whether they are reporters or whether they are working in any other place in this country.”
