NWLC Is Fighting for ALL Women and Girls

For over 50 years, NWLC has been leading the fight to defend Title IX and eradicate all forms of sex discrimination in school and fight for gender equity. Now, far-right extremists are promoting anti-trans misinformation that violates and undermines the promise of Title IX.

We will never stop fighting to make sure everyone can live authentically, without fear and discrimination, especially for women, girls, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Make a donation to ensure NWLC has the tools and resources to counter all extremist attacks and every dollar will be spent fighting for a more just and equitable world.

Brooksley Born Innovation Fund

The Center began in 1972 with an ambitious vision of its goals and mission. It was clear that exceptional leadership was required to achieve it.

Brooksley Born stepped into the role of Board Chair from the start, and she is, indeed, exceptional. Brooksley was one of the first female attorneys in the nation to address inequities in how women were treated under the law, one of the first female partners at the nationally known law firm Arnold & Porter, and later became Chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. She remained a steadfast Board member throughout. Every year under Brooksley’s guidance, the Center has expanded opportunities and protections for women and, while the work is far from done, the Center has achieved extraordinary advances for women. Brooksley’s strategic vision and leadership have been indispensable.

In June 2014, Brooksley retired her Chair’s gavel. While she remains on the Center’s Board, it is time to recognize her exceptional leadership and to say thank you. In honor of Brooksley’s service, we created the Brooksley Born Innovation Fund, which will help ensure that we can be nimble and creative in addressing future challenges and launch innovative, cutting-edge projects.

You can give online, mail a check to the Center’s office, or email [email protected] to make other arrangements, including stock transfers. Thank you for considering a contribution to honor Brooksley’s legacy and enable the Center to continue our critical role in advancing and promoting the interests of women and their families.
