Federal Court Halts Trump Administration’s Harmful Birth Control Rules

(Washington, D.C.) Today, a federal court in Pennsylvania issued a nationwide injunction blocking the Trump-Pence Administration’s final birth control rules that were scheduled to go into effect today, Monday, January 14th.

The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):

“Once again, the Trump-Pence Administration’s attempt to eliminate coverage of birth control was brought to a halt. In the nick of time, a court in Pennsylvania blocked the Administration’s harmful rules – rules that would have allowed virtually any employer or university to take away birth control coverage. But until these discriminatory rules are blocked for good, the health and livelihoods of millions across the country are still threatened. We will continue to fight these rules in court until everyone gets the birth control coverage they deserve, no matter where they live, work or go to school.”
