Nina Beattie

Board Member

Nina Beattie is a former partner at Brune & Richard, LLC, a women-founded litigation boutique with offices in New York and California. She is an experienced civil and criminal litigator whose practice focused on regulatory and criminal defense and complex commercial litigation. She successfully represented individuals and entities in a wide range of cases in federal and state courts as well as before regulatory agencies.

Ms. Beattie has been active in progressive politics and campaigns and has worked on numerous voter protection efforts around the country. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Women’s Law Center and the Fund for Modern Courts and is a former Board Member of the City Bar Justice Center and the New York Council of Defense Lawyers. Ms. Beattie also served as Panel Chair of the Disciplinary Committee appointed by the Appellate Division, First Judicial Department of New York.

Prior to working at Brune & Richard, Ms. Beattie worked at the Capital Defender Office in New York City and clerked for US District Court Judge Kimba M. Wood in the Southern District of New York.

Ms. Beattie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College and received her law degree from Yale Law School where she was the recipient of the C. LaRue Munson Prize, an editor of the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism and co-chair of Yale Law Women.
