(Washington, D.C.) Today, Republican leadership in the Senate failed in their attempt to pass a nationwide ban on abortion. The bill was an unconstitutional challenge to Roe v. Wade that picks an arbitrary cut-off point in pregnancy and then criminalizes abortion.

“This Administration and its allies in Congress will stop at nothing to deny a woman’s right to a safe and legal abortion. Anti-abortion lawmakers tried to advance this bill under the pretense of protecting families, but toying with women’s health is a dangerous game we cannot afford to play. Days after the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, it is more important than ever to defeat once and for all the attempts to push this unconstitutional and heartless bill that would ban abortion nationwide.”
