(Washington, D.C.) Yesterday, the United States Senate and the House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution to reopen the government for three weeks without any protection for Dreamers.
The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):
“Yesterday’s vote was deeply disappointing. The failure to pass a permanent solution for Dreamers or provide relief for communities still recovering from natural disasters leaves families less secure, less safe, and less stable. Real lives are on the line and it is time to stop passing the buck. We need permanent protection for Dreamers and funding for communities hardest hit by natural disasters now.”
