NWLC Responds to Supreme Court Upholding President Trump’s Muslim Ban

(Washington, D.C.) Today, the Supreme Court upheld President Trump’s Muslim Ban in the case of Trump vs. Hawaii.

The following is a statement from Anna Chu, Vice President for Strategy and Policy of the National Women’s Law Center:

“Today’s decision is a stark reminder of why courts matter. With a slim majority, five conservative judges sanctioned the bigotry and hatred coming from this Administration. In doing so, they lengthened the list of deeply shameful rulings from the Court’s history, including decisions that upheld the internment of Japanese Americans, the segregation of schools, and slavery. But no matter the setback, we will not stop fighting Islamophobia, xenophobia, or any other kind of bigotry where we see it. It’s never been more important to have a judiciary that upholds the law with integrity.”
