NWLC Responds to Attacks on Abortion in Indiana and Missouri

The following is a statement by Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):

“We’re witnessing the results of anti-abortion politicians’ outrageous efforts to eliminate the right to abortion and reverse decades of progress toward gender equality. This morning, the Supreme Court let an Indiana law go into effect that imposes medically unnecessary requirements on abortion clinics in an attempt to shut them down. In Missouri, officials are seeking to shut down the last remaining abortion clinic in the state this week unless courts step in and intervene. Paired with the extreme bans on abortion in states like Georgia and Alabama, the goal of anti-abortion politicians couldn’t be clearer: end abortion, at any cost. Make no mistake: this is a coordinated attack on our fundamental rights, and one of the greatest fights of our time. We are joining with our allies to stop these unconstitutional bans and restrictions, and make sure that patients’ health and lives are not ignored or disregarded.”
