NWLC Reacts to Departure of Betsy DeVos from Trump Administration

(Washington D.C.) The following is a statement from Emily Martin, Vice President for Education and Workplace Justice at the National Women’s Law Center:

“The exit of Betsy DeVos will come as welcome news to the countless students, teachers, and families harmed by her unjust and unequal vision for America’s schools. Whether it’s endangering sexual assault survivors, enabling the criminalization of young Black women, denying basic rights to transgender students, or leaving the nation’s school system rudderless amid an uncontrolled pandemic, DeVos’ legacy is shameful. We look forward to working with Miguel Cardona and the rest of incoming Biden-Harris administration to heal the damage she has done and build a safer, more equitable education landscape in its place.”
